Relay for Life Night on June 26th

On Friday, June 26th, we’ll host “Relay for Life” night in Kelley Park, with representatives from Relay for Life available to answer questions about this life-changing fundraising event, which takes place in Apple Valley on July 17th at Quarry Point Park.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event geared toward ending cancer and uniting communities across the globe to fight back against this disease. In Apple Valley, teams camp out at Quarry Point Athletic Complex and take turns walking or running around the track while entertainment, music and activities keep things lively. Symbolizing the battle waged around the clock by those fighting cancer, the event lasts for 12 hours, beginning with a powerful Celebration ceremony, lasting through the darkness of night as we Remember loved ones lost, and finishing with the dawn of a new day and an inspiring Fight Back rally.

2015 is the 15th annual Relay For Life of Apple Valley and in celebration we invite the community to attend and fight back!

Music in Kelley Park opens on Friday, June 5th

It’s finally here! Opening night of our Music in Kelley Park is this Friday, June 5th. We’ll have the kids from Southview Singers open up with two songs, and then we’ll move right into our featured act, Pho. You’ll hear funk, soul, hip-hop, and jazz come together in a sound that is uniquely Pho. These guys have played Triple Rock, The Cabooze, and the legendary First Avenue Main Room, but the Apple Valley Arts Foundation is bringing them to you, our city, absolutely FREE.

As was the case last year, we’ll have food, drinks (including wine and beer for the adults) from Rascal’s and $5 Pizza, and we may even have a few new culinary surprises as the summer unfolds!

We have fantastic prizes to give out, including bicycles and helmets, musical instruments, fire pits, and more! So, all of this is to say, make sure you come out to Kelley Park every Friday (except July 3rd) to hear really great FREE music!
